Language Assistants

A Language Assistant is a great addition to classrooms where good quality language teaching and learning is already taking place. Being native speakers they provide excellent models for language and first hand cultural references. They can be used flexibly to team teach, provide in-class support, take small conversation groups, take story time in the target language, prepare pupils for oral examinations, and more.

Who are they?

Most of our Language Assistants are graduates who studied in the UK, or have recently moved here to further their teaching experience. Some are career changers who are looking to gain classroom experience before embarking on a teaching qualification.

The best French Assistant we’ve had in years!
Our Language Assistant fitted in immediately, not just with the department, but with all colleagues and his exceptional inter-personal skills meant that he was able to develop excellent working relationships with staff and pupils alike. He was committed to the pupils and had a very professional and dedicated approach to his work. I can honestly say he has been the best French Assistant we have had in years.
